Objectives
Develop skills on chemistry fundamentals and the role of Chemistry on general sciences and on civil engineering in
particular. Acquisition of laboratory skills.
Program
Basic concepts. The structure of matter. Periodic Table. Chemical reactions. Stoichiometric calculus. Chemical balance. Acids and bases. Low-solubility salts. Oxidation-reduction.
Evaluation Methodology
Weighted average of the theoretical grade from a written test (intermediate or final assessment) and the practical grade from laboratory reports.
