Objectives
Development of competences on basic principles of Chemistry, and the problem solving ability in Chemistry. Development of skills for the analysis and resolution of problems in mechanics (kinematics and dynamics) with few idealized bodies.
Program
Part I - Chemistry
1. Tools. Atoms, molecules and ions. Chemical reactions. Stoichiometry.
2. Electronic Structure and Configuration. Chemical Bonding.
Part II - Physics
1. Units and dimensions
2. Scalars and vectors.
3. Introduction to the mechanics of the material point.
4. Forces.
5. Rigid Body Equilibrium.
Evaluation Methodology
Two frequencies throughout the semester including the subject taught during the semester (theoretical, theoretical-practical and practical), with weights of 1/3 for the chemistry part and 2/3 for the physics part. Minimum mark of 10 values f
