Objectives
The students will learn the fundamentals of the photographic process, its history and present applications. On completion of the module the students should be able to operate a 35mm camera and have a good command of the basic laboratory techniques.
Program
Module 1: LATENT DARKENING: introduction to latent darkening process, concept of negative-positive, ohotographic paper and basis of black and white printing.
Module 2: THE STENOPIC CAMERA: image formation principle, notion of focal length and its utilization in image production.
Module 3: INTRODUCTION TO THE CAMERA: components of the camera, introduction to film development and print, realization of project based in history of photography classes
Evaluation Methodology
Assessment is continuous.
Continuous assessment includes preparation, discussion and presentation of practical projects.

Teaching Method
As the matter to be studied is mainly technological, teaching is essentially practical.
In each module an exercise is proposed to be solved on an individual basis.
Software used in class
