Prerequisites

Objectives
Develop skills to carry out calculations with Newton's law, basic law of hydrostatics, law of continuity of flows, equation of Bernoulli, continuous loss of energy, and power of pumps and turbines.

4 - Hydrodynamics - Principles

4.2 - piezometric and power lines. Piezómetro and Pitot tube
4.3 - Hydraulic Power. Pumps and turbines

5 - Hydrodynamics - Laws of Resistance
5.1 - tangential stress in the solid border
5.2 - Reynolds's Experiment
5.3 - Darcy's equation for friction factor
5.4 - Colebrook-white formulas and equilibrium diagram

Evaluation Methodology
Continous assessment: Three written min-tests (classification is the arithmetic mean, minimum grade to be approved = 9,5 pts)
Exam assessment: written exam with minimum classification of 9,5 pts.

Teaching Method
Theoretical sessions in which the concepts and laws of fluid mechanics are provided and theoretical-practical sessions where exercises are proposed and solved by the students under the lecturer’s supervision.
