Objectives
Specific objectives:
1 - Demonstrate the importance of ICT to improve information management in the health sector;
2 - Transmit the technical concepts and functional systems of CERs;
3 - To publicize mobile systems and / or pervasive to clinical information management;
4 - Transmit and sensitize students to issues of management and availability of clinical data;
5 - To know the trends, problems and care in the implementation of IS in healthcare.
Skills to be acquired:
Clear and deep knowledge how can ICT assist the provision of health care;
Be able to demonstrate the importance of informatics in improving information management and decision-making process;
Know in-depth systems CER;
Be aware of difficulties and care in the implementation of IS in healthcare institutions.

Evaluation Methodology
The method of assessment is the individual achievement of a technical scientific paper, resulting from a research applied to a real case, with a weight of 50% of the final grade, and the realization of a frequency / test examination with a weight of 50% of the final grade. The student will approve if it reaches a final, the average of the two components of assessment, equal or greater than 9.5.

Teaching Method
Considering the objectives of the course of Health Information Systems the teaching method consists in oral presentation of the syllabus provided (lectures), and the presentation and discussion of topics related to them (theoretical and practical classes). The aim is also the transmission of knowledge by the organization of Seminars. Are also provided tutorial orientation sessions and used the IPT e-learning platform.
