Objectives
The students should be able to identify the different approaches to documentary film-making: observational, poetic, intenventive/participative, reflexive/the film within the film.
Program
A set of lectures that will serve as a basis for understanding documentary film as a cinema genre, its history, the prticularities of Portuguese Documentary and contemporary Documentary in its diversity of styles and approaches.
Evaluation Methodology
Film review based on a study visit to DocLisboa (20%)+ Critical Essay on one of a list of proposed topics (80%)
