Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of geometrical optics.
Objectives
The students should be able to deal with problems and solve them for obtaining quality optical systems used in photography.
Program
The role of lenses in photography.
Requirements for Optical photography.
The formation of images using simple optical systems.
The formation of images using compound lens systems - its performance.
Geometric and colour aberrations.
The speed of lenses.
Stray light in the images.
Resolving power of lenses and imaging systems.
Depth of field and depth of focus
Evaluation Methodology
Preparation of a work (individual or group) with presentation in class. Written examination (oral in exceptional cases).
