Objectives
Students should be able to:
. understand communication and the mass media under a sociological perspective;
. gain theoretical foundations that will enable them to expand their knowledge and expertise in specific communication subjects;
. build their own view of the media and the society;

Program
Sociology as a form of conscience; The three great modern sociological narratives; The Parsonian synthesis; Three post-modern views; The emergence of the communication paradigm; The main communication theories; The power of the Media and three common issues.

Evaluation Methodology
Written test (50%) + written test (50%) or practical assignment (50%)
