Objectives
Students should aqcuire the theoretical basis of digital image processing, including its applications in the acquisition and analysis of images for the production of digital content and some of his techniques. Students should be able to aply image enhancement and compression technics.

Topics on the human visual system;
General concepts;
Digital image processing system;
Fundamentals of digital image;
Noise removal;
Image improvement;
Detection of lines and edges;
Detection of the region of interest;
Information Theory.
Evaluation Methodology
The evaluation method consists in a written test and practical work, since both assessment components have a weight of 50% of the final grade.
