Objectives
The students will acquire and expand their knowledge of the history of book and edition. They should recognise the different stages of the history of book and edition.
Program
Comparison and analysis of prehistoric, historic and contemporary books; Comparison and analysis of miscellaneous periodicals; Comparison with editorial work by Portuguese designers.
Evaluation Methodology
Assessment: A 15-page essay (written research work on a scientific journal of the student's choice) including 3 oral presentations throughout the semester. The 3 oral presentations worth 60% and the written essay 40% of the total mark.
