Objectives
On completion of this unit students should have gained critical skills regarding the design, production and consumption/perception of a work of art in two main aspects: Intelectual and Physical Contexts. Constraining factors for the creative production of a work of art in its cultural context.
Program
Art critics and art crisis. Study of the consequences of artwork production in its different fields of expression: architecture, plastic arts, performative arts, decorative arts and mounting of exhibitions. Spatial, historical and display contexts. Public exhibition of works of art. The museum, the evolution of thought, cases, physical maintenance of museums. Museographies.
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment: practical assignment (30%) and discussion of final research project work (70%). Critical analysis of case studies.
