Prerequisites
Algebra, trigonometry, elementary analysis, vector calculus, knowledge and application of the three Newton's laws.
Objectives
The students should become familiar with the principles of linear momentum, energy and angular momentum and eletromagnetic and sound waves and be able to think rationally, applying it to real situations, obtaining, analyzing and evaluating preditions.
Program
1 - Principles of variation of energy and angular momentum. Application to computer simulations of the motion of projectiles,central movement and accelerated circular motion
2 - Oscillatory and wave motion. General characteristics of light and sound: velocity, refractive index, period, frequency, wavelength, electromagnetic spectrum and sound
Evaluation Methodology
Development of a group work linking curricular materials to a theme of choice (personal or course). Multiple choice final exam. Students have the opportunity to practise at home: they are provided online multiple choice tests with automatic feedback.

Teaching Method
Theoretical-practical classes for a variety of problems resolution, group work development and laboratory experiments. For aditional clarification of concepts and laws, Modellus simulations are used and experimental videos are visualized.
