Prerequisites
Basics of digital systems.
Objectives
- Analyse DC Circuit analysis;
- Become familiar with basic semicondutor devices: diode, bipolar transistor;MOS transistor;
- Design and analyse digital circuits;
- Work with computer-aided design tools for digital circuits.
Program
I- Analysis of CC circuits
II - Semi-conductor devices:diodes bipolar transistor, MOS transistor.
III - Digital electronics:CMOS circuits; bipolar circuits; logic families; memories
IV- Hardware description languages:VHDL; digital systems design.
Evaluation Methodology
Written test: 12 grade points
Laboratory coursework: 8 grade points
Continuous assessment:
- Test
- Laboratory coursework
Laboratory component: minimum mark of 9.5/20.
Final mark: weighted average of written test and laboratory coursework.
