Objectives
A general overview of the Mediaeval Portuguese History and a systematic review that will allow an in-depth approach.
Documental sources are explored that allow an approach to cultural heritage.
Program
I. The ãssertion of national identity: the formation of the Portuguese Kingdom within the context of Respublica Christiana (1095/96 - 13th century)
II. The assertion of Portugal as a Nation (1279-1385)1. The Bourgogne-Bologne Dynasty Post Alphonse III (1279-1383)Period 2. Portugal reinforces its identity in face of Castilla (1383-1385).
Evaluation Methodology
Two mid-term tests with minimum pass mark of 10. Final exam for those failing continuous assessment (minimum pass mark:10). One practical assignment counting 1 mark towards the overall mark.
